The Void is the in between everything, in this case the in-between different realities and universes. It’s what keeps everything separated. Everyone momentarily passes through it if they travel dimensions. A plane which people may pass through but not stay for no regular being can survive it. Its domain confuses its inhabitants, can distort and mess with the mind especially the human species. Gods or other higher being do not struggle here.
The Void itself is sentient. It holds purpose and emotions as if human although it is a celestial/cosmic entity. It’s natural state: nothing but a black abyss but it carries within it the power of limitless creation. Anything and everything within it is possible as long as it wills it so. Additionally, you can cannot simply enter the Void. As it is sentient, it determines who can enter and stay. It let’s many pass but never does anyone stay.
The origins of Madam are at it’s core are a mystery. The goddess herself getting confused as to when exactly she had become what she did. Due to her still being half human, her mind isn’t protected from the Void’s distorting properties. She may forget a lot then remember it later on. Certain memories get confused with others or too blurry to recall any distinguishing factors.

One day waking up in a world of black and no way home. In truth, her journey to be ruler of the Void started many years prior when she was 13. Those vivid “dreams” she had growing up were never dreams but the Void stealing her away, tossing her into various worlds before bringing her home.
